When you have an engineering type mind and a vivid imagination, planning and building devices or structures seems easy. But it's not. I'll often spend hours sketching, drawing, planning and making various projects both for the Shack and other projects. I've worked with and had relationships with a lot of other engineer types over the years and one thing that is different for each of us is how we plan a project.
Some people will make drawings, plan, do some CAD work, and plan some more.
Others like myself will plan a project in our heads and perhaps with some math and calculations start building. The difference between the two methods isn't as much as you would think. How you get there isn't an issue, it's the final product that's the key.
